Apple has been quick to quash a rumor that HomeKit-enabled smart home devices had been delayed until August or September, saying that the first devices will land in June.

In a statement to the WSJ, Apple spokeswoman Trudy Muller said that “HomeKit has been available for just a few months and we already have dozens of partners who have committed to bringing HomeKit accessories to market and we’re looking forward to the first ones coming next month.”

Apple had previously not given a timescale for when HomeKit devices would be available, although developers had said the timescale was May or June.

HomeKit is expected to be at the heart of a raft of home automation devices, ranging from smart thermostats to smart locks, cameras, switches, and garage door openers.

Given the June timetable, it is expected that Apple will have more to say about HomeKit at Worldwide Developers Conference, which kicks off June 8th.
